Cities are where people live together. As modern cities became overcrowded, buildings became taller. A cityscape consists of tall buildings in downtown and impoverished neighborhoods.
Tall buildings have a higher impact on city design; they are icons representing a city, and landmarks showing the developmental level of an area. On the other hand, people in impoverished neighborhoods have a community in which they exchange labor, give what they have, and share useful information for living.
In expressing a city’s identity, I wanted to depict on canvas the unique characteristics that differentiate it from other cities.
